About Keri Muller

Professionally speaking I like to lead a varied life.  I love Beauty and Flow.  I enjoy my autonomy and work from home - OPEN PLAN OFFICES ARE MY WORST NIGHTMARE. I employ a few people who make things for me and they then employ others when the need dictates.  

I think Art and Maths are the same thing  - both require lateral thinking and creativity. I love business and specifically my own business.  I've learnt that most people understand that good value does not necessarily mean cheap.  Neither does it mean ridiculously expensive. There is space for everything in life.  I also discovered that a lot of people like to judge who you are by what you do and that assumption is a dangerous thing.  

I am in part fuelled by travel and found a natural niche in the African Travel Industry working with other like minded people from 2004 to 2012. My job role ranged from sales to Product Manager for Southern and East Africa for various Tour Operators.  This only came after I'd spent some time knocking around the world teaching water-skiing, running a backpackers and cutting down Alien Vegetation, among other odd jobs.

Making Stuff and Art came later in early 2013.  I think 'it' was always sitting there dormant in my cells.  It just needed to be jolted into action by some time spent in a beautiful but incredibly hard place.  I am the owner of Simple Intrigue and continue to funnel my art and creative direction talents through this business.

I spend a lot of time out in nature and under the oceans surface.  Snorkelling in False Bay without a wetsuit has become my mindfulness practise and has now inspired a whole other body of work.  What was originally a hobby for the past 10 years has now become part of my art.  I collect and collate plastic found on the beaches around Southern Africa collaborating with other NPO's and business in the quest to educate and change people's ways in how we use plastic in our daily lives.  

Other pertinent points, I'm the person who serves on the Body Corporate and I always takes Minutes at meetings.  I know what Return on Investment actually means as I've run my own successful business since 2013.
